When the fishing dried up in Cashmere, they moved to Smiths Falls in Eastern Ontario. Their youngest daughter was born there. He was employed by Canadian Cooperage of that town. While in their employ, he won an award as the best stave cutter. They later moved back to the City of London, Ont.
