1848 Elizabeth is NOT mentioned in this N.Y. Supreme Court document. But her 2 kids and husband are listed... had she died by November 1848?

NOTE... A John Blake was born about 1849 in NY... he is listed in some records as the son of Alexander V. & Elizabeth M. Blake... if this was her son, she may have died in childbirth in late 1848... however, the 1850 Census below does not list a John age 1, so if this was correct, then he must have also died.

by 1850, Alex is widowed and mother-in-law Mary Everingham is living with them.

"Theodore West Mason married December 5, 1865, Elizabeth Matilda, b.22 Mar., 1845, daughter of Alexander Viets Blake of Brooklyn and Elizabeth Matilda, daughter of Gilbert Everinghim of New York city. The ceremony was performed in Grace church, Brooklyn Heights, by the rector Rev. Dr. Eugene A. Hoffman.... had issue; Katharine Maud Mason, b.2 Nov 1867, John Meredith Mason, b.17 Aug 1869, Theodora Evelyn Mason, b.15 Feb 1871, Albert Woods Mason, b.6 Nov 1882.
Mr. Alexander V. Blake was the son of Rev. Dr. John Lauris Blake. Mr. Blake married again in April 1858, Maria Elizabeth, dau. of Edward Whitehouse of Remsen St., a prominent New York City banker. He had always been a resident of Brooklyn. He died the 25, June, 1881."
