1948 Obituary The Tribune, Stouffville, Ontario, March 25, 1948 .. "Descendant of two pioneer York county families, Mrs. David F. Sprague died at her Elgin Mills home, in her 95th year last week. Born Sept 13, 1853, she was one of seven children of John Everingham and the former Emily Ellen Wilson, early settlers in the Kenswick district.
Mary Everingham was married to David Frederick Sprague, son of another pioneer family on Oct 27, 1881. Mr. Sprague died in 1925 at the age of 87. In 1939, when she was 86, Mrs. Sprague accompanied a daughter, Gertrude, a Toronto school teacher, who died a year later, on a long holiday trip through Mexico, California and British Columbia. Mrs. Sprague is survived by two sons, Major Fred A. Sprague of Long Branch, and David Edward Sprague, Elgin Mills; three daughters, Mrs. H.L. Troyer (Emily) and Mrs. Charles H. Wright (Elizabeth), Toronto, and Mrs. Peter Flanagan (Nora), Ottawa. One sister, Mrs. William Sprague, Aurora also survives as well as 11 grandchildren."
