"Paul A. Prentler Lansing Age 83 passed away February 7, 2014 at Sterling House under the loving care of his family. He was born September 19, 1930 in Lansing, the son of Joseph and Ermalinda (Fedewa) Prentler and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nona in 2002 and a brother, Joseph. Paul attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit. He was a longtime member of St. Gerard Catholic Church; running Bingo there for 15 years and serving as an usher for 40 years as well as other volunteer jobs. In his professional career, Paul was a Real Estate agent with Coldwell Banker in addition to retiring from Consumers Energy as an Engineering Manager after 39 years of service. He also served as Chairman of the Board of CPCU for 33 years. Paul married Mary (Dahl) Burton on November 7, 2003. Besides his loving wife, he is also survived by his children: Cindy Prentler Thurston, David (Blanca) Prentler, Karen (Howard) Stein, Thomas (Cindy) Prentler, Christine (Wayne) Loszewski; step-children: Ken (Lana) Burton, Scott (Kim) Burton, Todd (Wendy) Burton, Tawnya (Scott) Mather; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Arlene) Prentler; sister, Monica (Robert) Bair and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father John P. Klein officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service and also on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church."
