fact sources and writings about this individual:
Research of Kevin Everingham of MI, 2019

This family is part of an unknown NJ & PA Everham group being researched.

1843 New York Passenger lists show a Samuel Everham age 27 born about 1816, a Wheelright, arriving at port in New York, NY in 1843 aboard the brig "Openaugi". His intended destination was "Philadelphia". (although age is a bit off, see #675 1850 Census) The death info given below show he died in 1891 & lists his birth about 1816 and show he was a "Wheelright" born in Mt. Holly, NJ.

1850 U.S. CENSUS of Spring Garden, Philadelphia, #675 (August 30, 1850).. Samuel Everham 30, b.NJ, wheelwright,.. Marg Everham 22, b.PA,.. Wm. Everham 3/12, b.PA. Margaret's name is transcribed wrong online as "Mary", it's very hard to read but clearly transcribed incorrectly.

1866 Philadelphia, PA death record.. "Charles Everham, 4, b.Philadelphia, white male, d.22 July 1866 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, s/o Saml & Margt Everham. 2211 Clayton St., Philadelphia, PA... OFC cemetery."
1866 (linked to death record above, gives Charles' middle name.) Philadelphia Inquirer, Tue, July 24, 1866... "Deaths - EVERHAM, on the 22nd instant, Chas Crosby, son of Samuel and Margaret Everham, in the 4th year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, this (Tuesday) afternoon at 4 o'clock, from his parents residence, No 2211 Clayton street, above Coates, without further notice."

No first names given but this is likely the family
1870 CENSUS Philadelphia, PA, (Page 5, #1812).. "S. Everham 54, male,.. M. Everham 41, female,.. W. Everham 20, male,.. C. Everham 17, female,.. S.H. Everham 15, male,.. M.I.or MJ? Everham 12, female,.. H. Everham 10, male... / J.K. Bryant 50,.. E.Bryant 5,.. O. Bryant 19." The ages fit perfect with Samuel and Mary and first known son William.

1876 Philadelphia, PA death record.. Mary Ida Everham, 17, b..PA, d.26 Feb 1876, d/o Samuel & Margaret Everham of Philadelphia, PA. address: 1812 Perkiomen St., Philadelphia, PA. Odd Fellows cemetery, PA.

1879 Philadelphia, PA death record.. "Margaret Everham 49 1/2 yrs old, b.Montgomery, PA, married, died 28 Feb 1879, Philadelphia, PA, address; 1812 Perkeman St. Philadelphia, PA (see Mary Ida Everham's address above also). burial; Odd Fellows cemetery, Philly."

1880 US CENSUS Philadelphia, PA (Sheet 515D).. "Living with Rudolph & Taressa Wagner family; William Everham 30, b.PA, carpenter,.. Samuel Everham 25, b.PA, plumber." both list their father born in New Jersey, Mother born in Pennsylvania. In the 1891 death record (below), Samuel Jr. is also listed as a plumber.

1881 Philadelphia Inquirer, Tue, March 29, 1881 (Page 3).. "Early yesterday morning Policeman Woodward while at Ridge and Girard avenues, saw George Torode and Samuel Everham having John McAllister in charge, the latter being badly cut in the face. He arrested them." it is most likely that the Samuel in this article was Samuel Jr.

1891 Philadelphia, PA Death Record... Samuel Everham, 75, died 02 Apr 1891, occupation; wheelwright burial; odd fellows cemetery, born at Mt.Holly, NJ, married at time of death.

1891 Philadelphia, PA Death Record.. "Samuel Everham, 36, born abt 1855 PA, died 13 Oct, 1891 at Philadelphia, plumber, married. burial; Odd Fellows cemetery, Philadelphia, PA." this appears to be father and son both dying in 1891, 6 months apart. Both buried at the Odd Fellows cemetery. Odd Fellows Cemetery was established March 24, 1849 at 23rd and Diamond Streets in Philadelphia. In 1951 the cemetery was acquired by the City of Philadelphia in order to build the Raymond Rosen Housing Development. Most of the graves were moved to the Memorial Park section of Lawn-view Cemetery, in Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and some were removed to Philadelphia's Mount Peace Cemetery.
