interesting circumstantial evidence;
1830 The only Tester in Hocking County, Ohio in 1830, was Jacob Tester in; Falls, Hocking County, Ohio according to the 1830 Census, having a total family of 4 males, & 4 females. So, Jacob is almost certainly George's father. Jacob probably only had 4 children by 1830 but may have had other relatives living with them.

1840 US CENSUS, there were 4 Testers in Ohio; George, Samuel, William & Jacob,.. Jacob Tester was in German Township, Allen County, Ohio, and had 11 people in his family. (this was prior to Marry Ann's birth.)

1847 Lutheran cemetery, Elida, Allen County, Ohio ... "Keziah Knittle Tester (b.1800, d.1847)" this is the only Tester buried here. Maiden name not certain, but this is the first wife of Jacob, and mother of all the children.

1850 the only Jacob Tester I can find is working on a farm in Moulton, Auglaize, Ohio and was born about 1834, I believe he is likely a son of the older Jacob Tester and probable brother of George. I am not sure where Jacob Tester Sr. was in 1850.

1860 US CENSUS German Township, Allen, OHIO J. TESTER.. age 60, born in Virginia... M. Tester 55, b.OH,.. E. Tester 23, b.OH,.. J. Tester 21, b.OH,.. Wm Tester 26, b.OH,... S. Tester 18, b.OH,.. M.A. Tester 14, female, b.OH. M. Tester is Jacob's 2nd wife; Mary Pence Tester. Their last 5 children were still living with them also.

1876 Stringtown cemetery, Rockford, Mercer County, Ohio (old section) .. "there are 9 Testers buried here Cora May Tester (1873-1874).. David Tester (1825-1895).. Elizabeth Clutter Tester (1824-1903)... Jacob Tester (1796-1876) broken headstone says died 1876, age 80... Jacob Tester (1860-1861).. Maria Berryhill Tester (1843-1872).. Mary Pence Tester (1805-1874).. Mary Ellen Tester (1852-1859).. Rohama Tester (1854-1855). Mary Pence was Jacob's 2nd wife.

1903 Jacob Tester Jr. is buried at Lufborrow Cemetery In Geneva, Adams County, Indiana with some of his family. He died March 24, 1903 and his headstone shows; 64y, 9m, 14days old... which marks his date of birth, in mid 1838, but his earlier census record showed him a little older than that.
