I've seen this record, the middle name is clearly Augustus, not Albert as family believed.

1880 CENSUS of Algansee, Branch county, MI
C. Zerba, 29, born in OH, farmer, P.A. Zerba, 25, wife, W.A. Zerba, 5, son, Floy B., 4, daughter, Walter J. age 9/12. Everyone but Clinton was listed as born in Michigan. (familiy #204, Page 20) "W.A. Zerba is William A."

1895 Gratiot Co. MI Marriage Record (film #985694) William A. Zerba, 21 b.MI, s/o Clinton Zerba & Phoebe Purdy,.. married 16 Nov 1895 at Gratiot Co. MI to Blanch Wiles, 20, b.MI d/o Soloman Wiles

1901 Gratiot Co. Imperial Atlas, lists a (William Zerber) who owned land in Section 16, of New Haven Township. There is no record of any "Zerber" families in Gratiot County. This is certainly a clerical typo for (William Zerba)

William A. Zerba 45, Blanche 44 (wife), Pearl A. 19 (dau), Lawson A. 16 (son), William A. 12 (son), Earl A. & Merl A. 9 (twin sons). All born in Michigan. William was a farmer, his father is noted as born in Ohio.
