GENERAL AFFIDAVIT FOR ALL PURPOSES.

County of Chickasaw

In the matter of __claim for Increase of Pension No.162621 of
Wm Everingham
__ on this _24_ day of __June__ A.D. 1885 personally appeared before me a __Notary Public__ in and for the aforesaid county, duly authorized to administer oaths, _John Blapham_ aged 57_ years, a resedent of _Utica, Twsp._ in the county of __Chickasaw___ and the State of _Iowa_
Well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn declares in relation to aforesaid case, as follows:

That he has been acquainted with said Everingham for 29 years that his farm and Everingham's farm are only one three fourths miles apart and he has been intimately acquainted with him as neighbors in a new country are; knowing his affairs and state of his health from personal observation, that said claimants disability has so increased that he no longer able to perform any hard manual labor, that claimant is a farmer and can perform no professional or skilled labor of any kind, that he has no trade of profession, that he has been steadily declining in physical health, That from first of January last until late in the spring, claimant was confined to the house requiring the care bestowed upon Invalids, a part of the time bedridden, he is now unable to perform any labor requiring a common degree of physical strength an hour or two of light labor aggrevates his so that he is so obliged to ___? and rest, any attempts at labor aggrevates his disability and the only way he can obtain rest is by lying down, he can not rest in a sitting posture, Walking injures him and riding also increases his suffering The jar of any riding of a vehicle or conveyance prostrates him. He complains of a paralyzed feeling of back and legs upon experiencing any jar whether in riding or walking, has to pick his way carefully in walking to avoid any jarring sensation. Can not remain in one position any length of time.

And he further declares that he has no interest in said case, and is not concerned in it's prosecution
