Benjamin F. Everingham, 72, died about 1 a.m. today at his residence in Zeigler, IL. Born on Nov. 25, 1923, in Hutsonville, IL, he is the son of Benjamin F. and Anna Gertrude Merritt, Everingham.

On Dec. 12, 1949, he married Eleanor M. Culp in Vincennes, IN, and she survives.

A 24 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired from Magic Chef, was a protestant, a member of the Herrin Eagles, Herrin VFW, and the American Legion.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son-n-law, Nancy Ann and Douglas Johnson, Bedford, VA, and Deborah L. Dale, Zeigler; two brothers, Harvey Everingham and Charles Everingham, both of Robinson; a sister Myrtle Shook, Robinson; six grandchildren; and three great-grand-children. His parents, a sister, and two brothers preceeded him in death. There will be no funeral service or visitation.

Burial will be at a later date in Robinson with Johnson Hughes in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, P.O. Box 429, Herrin, IL 62948.
