A PIONEER CALLED

B. D. EVERINGHAM, one of the first settlers of Howard County, died at his home in Cresco Nov 23rd. Deceased was in his 84th year. He was a veteran of the Civil War. For many years he lived south of town on the New Oregon Road and some 8 years ago moved to town. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday conducted by Rev. J. A. Petit and burial was at New Oregon, the Masonic Lodge having charge of services at the grave. Three daughters-Mrs. S. R. Walter of Mahatowa, Minn., Mrs. A. R. McCook of Shell Rock, Iwa, and Mrs. Farnsworth of Big Lake, Minn., and two sons, Frank D. of Ottawa, Kansas and Charley of Glenwood, Minn. attended the funeral.
