EVERINGHAM, Wilbur Allen 87, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, was born in Hutsonville, Illinois. He died on July 25, 2007, in Springfield, Missouri. He was married for 62 years to Eula Edgington, who preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by his three daughters, Nancy Everingham of Springfield, Missouri, and Karen Andersen and Marcia Everingham of Dayton; his granddaughter Kirstin Andersen of Dayton; and his grandson Erik and wife Christina Andersen, and their sons Ian and Gavin of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Wilbur joined the U. S. Marine Corps on November 25, 1942, and served proudly in Seattle, Washington, and the Pacific in World War II. He was honorably discharged on November 26, 1945. He entered the University of Illinois on the GI Bill and graduated in 1951 with degrees in business and law. As a CPA he served as the chief financial officer for several companies in the Midwest, retiring from the Huffy Corporation in Dayton in 1985. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Church near Palestine, Illinois, at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 4, 2007. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.
