This will was filed in Lincoln County Courthouse, St. Catherines, probated 1808.

In the name of God, Amen I, Bassnet Dell, of the Township of Crowland, District of Niagara, County of Lincoln, Province of upper Canada, being of sound mind.... etc etc etc.,

First, I give and bequeath to Hannah, my dearly beloved wife, her maintenance during her widowhood, to be given by my executor.
Secondly, I give to my well beloved son Henry Dell, the sum of 20/- for his heirship or birthright, to be paid by my Executor.
Thirdly, To my well beloved daughter Rebecca, I give for her portion when she married to Charles Green, this must suffice for her.
Fourthly, To my well beloved son Basnett Dell, I give the sum of 5/- to be paid by my executor.
Fifthly, I give to my well beloved son William Dell, the sum of 5/- to be paid by my executor.
Sixthly, I give to my well beloved son Nathaniel Dell, the sum of 5/- to be paid by my executor.
Seventhly, I give to my well beloved son Burris Dell, whom I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole executor of this my last will and testament, all and singular my lands, mortgages, tenements, chattel goods and effects and all and every of them by him his heirs and assigns Freely to be bestowed and enjoyed and I do hereby utterly disallow Revoke and Disannul all and every other former Testament, wills, legacies bequests and execution by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Nineteenth day of August in the year of our lord, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Eight. This above condition to Burris Dell is meant to be agreeable to articles of Agreement with me Basnet Dell Senior and Burris Dell bearing date the eleventh of February one thousand seven hundred and ninety six.

Signed, Sealed, Published Pronounced and declared by the said Basnet Dell as his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have here unto subscribed our names.
