Sibyl L. Everingham
Funeral services for Sibyl Louise Everingham, 94, of McAllen, Texas and formerly of Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit funeral home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Sibyl was born October 24, 1919 in Moulton, Alabama to the late Robert and Dellie Ann Key Whitman and passed away peacefully on August 24, 2014.
She was married 55 years to her husband, Albert Kirkland Everingham. As a career military wife, Sybil was privileged to travel extensively but was always happiest when she was able to come home to Texas and her family. She was a long time member of Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church in Tyler. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Henry K. Whitman, Gifford A. Whitman, Rayford L. Whitman; and two sisters, Bernice L. Malone and Lois N. Strangi.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Everingham Wise and her husband Mikel of McAllen; one grandchild Steven Brent Wise and wife Tonya; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Seelbach and husband Roger, Tyler Grant Wise and wife Sara, and Lori Taylor Wise; two great-great-grandchildren, Carson Brent Wise and Blakely Suzanne Wise.
