1896 Star News, Indianapolis, IN, Oct. 1896.. "Victim of Heart disease. Chicago, Oct.6 - Clifford B. Everham, manager of the gold and stock department of Western Union Telegraph company, was stricken with heart disease Monday afternoon while testifying in Judge Tuthill's court in a wire-tapping case, and almost instantly expired. Mr. Everham has been connected with the Western Union, for upwards of 20 years and was known as an expert telegrapher throughout the west. Mr. Everham leaves a widow and a child about a year old."
