    Barbara had previously been married to Charles CASSIDY in 1878, California. They had Arthur Benjamin CASSIDY who later took the surname EVERHAM. Arthur was born December 13, 1877. Barbara's parents were; Burton McKAY (b.1831) and Jane Hatton HARRIS (b.1825) both of Nova Scotia, Canada.

    1908 according to records of Jen Perkins-Rose family moved to Detroit, MI when Melville worked consulting for the construction of the Michigan Central Railroad tunnel under the Detroit River. I haven't found proof of that but did find a Newspaper article about Arthur C. Everham (his stepson) 1943 The Daily Monitor Leader News, Mount Clemens, Michigan, July 23, 1943.. "Arthur C. Everham, 66, noted engineer who served in construction of the New York Central Railroad's tunnel under the Detroit River, was killed yesterday in an automobile collision. For 3 years he had been director of public works here. (Kansas City)"
