OBITUARY Elizabeth Boyd Hawkins, 87, died at her home on Pine Island, Florida, Saturday May 17th 2008.

Elizabeth was born in Onaway, 3/2/1921 to Ethel & Joseph Grandmason. She attended public schools there and taught school in the St. Ignace area where she met and married Bert Hawkins.

Bert and Elizabeth made their home in Boyne City area and raised four children. She was an active member of the First Presbyerian Church of Bayshore where she taught Sunday school and played organ for services. She worked as a secretary to her husband's business B&B roofing Co. for 25 years. They retired to Pine Island Florida, enjoying teh warmth of that community and the fellowship of the local Methodist Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bert Hawkins, two sons, Joseph Hawkins, Bill (Salli) Hawkins of Boyne City, and daughter Janet (Michael) Bango of Harbor Springs. One sister Emily (Leonard) Wright of Millersburg. Four grandchildren; Jason Moody of Marquette, Peter Moody of East Lansing, Christine (William) Rose of Petoskey, and Sara Hawkins of Walloon lake. Two great grandchildren; Lizzie Yell and Jett Smith of Walloon Lake. She was preceded in death by her son Jim Hawkins, brother Hugh Grandmason and sisters Jessie Ackley, and Gerry Patterson. Internment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
