2011 Grand Rapids Press, April 23, 2011 Obituary... "JOHNSEN - Clara E. Johnsen, age 90, of Carson City, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Carson City Hospital. Funeral services for Clara will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, exit 57 Building in Carson City, with Pastor Jim Barrett officiating. Interment will be in Bloomer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of Choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home. Clara was born July 3, 1920 in Big Rapids, the second of four children, to William and Nettie (Spicer) May. She worked at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for 20 years and had been a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Carson City. She is survived by three children, Barbara L. Lawton of Grand Rapids, Clara Everingham of Carson City, and Harold Johnsen of Kentwood. Also eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jack Johnsen.
