Family Title

In reference to your incredibly interesting correspondence:

I hope I don't offend you, but I find any link to what is referred to as the "ancient Everinghams" as very suspect, (that's just how us genealogy people are) but if you can prove things to me, I would be incredibly happy to post any of your information to the Everingham family site. Are you saying that you can prove a link to an extinct peerage?

Also... how do you claim your title? Wasn't this title generally passed to a 1st son's, 1st son... etc. and even then, doesn't the title of Baron have to be proclaimed by the English government, not just proven by genealogical links 100's of years later? As an American, I surely do not know the workings of English Titles, so set me straight.
I have been gathering information for a possible book about the oldest Everinghams for many years and nothing could be more interesting for me than to learn more. Who are you?

Just looking for more details... you have certainly awakened my attention and I can not wait to hear more. I am very interested in hearing much more from you.
