3*Interesting Note; Several Everinghams found connected to Stainborough Estates. This Adam, son of Robert & Isabel is noted as Adam of Everingham & Stainborough. Meaning, he probably lived & owned the estates at Stainborough and another estate at Everingham.
4In "The Complete Peerage of England..." 1926, he is Sir Robert of Laxton, Notts, Everingham, Kipling Cotes, and Sherburn, Co. York, Westborough, Co. Lincoln. Heir of Robert & did homage and had livery of his mother's lands 12 Aug, 1252.

Adam de Everingham, at the decease of his mother in the 36th Henry III [1252], had livery of her lands upon doing homage and giving security for the payment of 50 for his relief. In the 42nd Henry III [1258], this feudal lord was in the expedition made then into Wales, but he afterwards took up arms with Montfort, Earl of Leicester, and the other discontented barons of that period, and was at the battle of Evesham. He defeated 9th Edward I [1280-81], being at that time seised of a moiety ofthey barony of Schelford, in Nottinghamshire, into which moiety twelve knights' fees and a half in several counties appertained, whereof ten were for the Bailiwick of Sherwood. He likewise possessed the manors of Everingham and Farburne, co. York, and Westbury, co. Lincoln. He was succeeded by his son, Robert.

Adam received his mother's lands 6 years after her death. 1258-expedition into Wales with king's men. Later sided with de Montfort and was at Battle of Evesham. He owned 1/2 of the barony of Schelford and possessed the manors of Everingham and Farburne, Yorkshire & Westbury, Lincolnshire.

The Publications of the Thoresby Society Research of Birkin. "when Adam came of age in 1252 his paternal lands had been in the bands of the King for 7 years. The Everingham lands came to Adam, while his mother had given her own manor of Birkin to her 2nd son John."
