1883 Charlotte Republican Newspaper, Eaton Rapids, MI, May 4, 1883.. "Levi Hale, an old and respected citizen of Eaton Co., died a few days ago at the advanced age of 71 years. He moved to this state forty years ago. For many years he has been a sufferer, but being a true Christian he bore his afflictions without a murmur. His funeral sermon was preached by Rev. H.S. Shaeffer at the South Eaton U.B. Church."
