This family was a mystery to me for 10 years after finding information about John, his children and grand children, I could not figure out what family he connected to until, in 2018, I found a (1928 death certificate) that showed his parents as William Everingham, b.OH and Beprebath Osburn, which made it obvious to me that he was the son of William Everingham of Ontario, who migrated to Erie County Ohio by 1834, and his first wife Hepzibah Osborn.

1861 Putnam Republican Banner, Greencastle, Indiana, Thur, Oct 10, 1861.. "News from Cheat Mountain; The Twenty-Fifth Ohio, wounded; John Everingham, Co. E, severe buck-shot wound in the ankle." John was discharged Oct 13, 1862 likely because of this wound. He later joined the cavalry, possibly to be off his feet.

1875 Erie County Ohio Birth record (Vol.1 Pg.326 #21).. "Cora Everingham, female, born at Milan township, Erie, OH, 23 November, 1875, d/o John Henry Everingham & Caroline Roxy Robinson."

1880 U.S. CENSUS Milan, Erie, OH (Sheet 110C, family #112).. "John H. Everingham 38, b.OH,.. Caroline R. 27, b.NY,.. Edith 7, b.MI,.. Cora 4, b.OH,.. Walter 5/12, b.OH."

1884 Erie County Ohio birth record.. "Clarence Everingham, male, b.4 Jan 1884 at Milan township, Erie, OH, son of; John H. Everingham & Carrie Robinson." Incorrectly transcribed 1882 references exist of this birth at familysearch.org, but I have seen the register at Erie County, OH and it is clearly written January 4, 1884.

1889 The History of Erie County Ohio, published D. Mason & Co., Syracuse, N.Y. 1889.. "In a list of city officers since 1852, shows on page 314; in 1859, William Everingham was city clerk... this same book has 2 entries for John Everingham living in North Milan."
