1950 The Courtland Democrat, NY, Friday, Sept 8, 1950... 79 YEAR OLD MAN LOST IN WOODS, 125 IN HUNT... A posse of about 125 men including the DeRuyter Firemen and Auxiliary, Chenango County and Courtland County Sheriffs and State Troopers, also men in the neighborhood searched the woods on Randall Hill west of Lincklaen village for Arthur Everingham, 79, of Nedrow, N.Y. Monday night and Tuesday with the search ending when he walked into W.W. Burrow's store at Lincklaen about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Everingahm and his grandson Lyle Rowland were blackberrying Monday about 5 p.m. when he dissapeared. Although Mr. Everingham slept under a pine tree Monday night and walked for miles thru the heavy forest, he seemed to be in good condition when he emerged. He appeared at the farm of J.E. Dager on Rocky Bottom road. Mr. Dager gave him lunch and brought him to the Burrows store about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Everingham will be 80 in November.
