"Died, At Centregove, Cumb. Co., N.J., on May 10th, Hannah Everingham, youngest daughter of Jeremiah W. and Margaret Everingham, aged 16 years and 10 days. She was beautifully converted to God in the 8th year of her age, in Centregrove school house. Since that time, she has exemplified the glories of youthful piety in her even, gentle and cheerful spirit. Her prompt attendance on the means of grace rendered her an interesting scholar in the school of Christ. None knew her but to love her, and none spoke of her but to praise her. Her surroundings rendered life desirable, and during her illness she sometimes expressed a desire to mingle again with her young associates. But before she reached the river she became sweetly resigned, and expressed a desire to go and be with Christ. She also requested her young class mates that were present to sing while she was passing through the waters, to the other shore, that beautiful chorus "White Robes and Waiting for Me." After she made that request, she remained quiet, and soon it was made plain to all that her feet had already reached the waters. Then her class mates began to sing, and when she got well out info the stream, she tried to shout; and thus while they were singing, her spirit mounted angelic wings and joined the seraphic anthems of the skies.

Dearest Hannah, thou hast left us,
Here thy loss deeply feel;
But 'tis God that hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
Then in Heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed.

S.P. Cossaboom, Pastor."
