Violet BURNHAM
Violet's grandmother was from the Haudenosaunee, an Onondaga tribe of Iroquois

2From Researcher Debbi St.Louis:
"Chauncey Burnham was married to Catharine Dochstader (your info on her parents is correct as far as I have). When Chauncey died, Catharine being Indian couldn't own land, so the Burnham family kept marrying her. first Chauncey then Lyman. (& possibly another)"
3Understanding Ontario Genealogical Records, by David K. Faux Proving Violet's Iroquois Heritage.
4 Notes about Violet's death:
All Burnham records show her date of birth as 1828 which is most likely correct or at least close. (Death Certificate) When she died in December of 1869, her son Ira listed her as 36 years, 9 months old which gives her a date of birth of March 1833. Ira was notorious for not recording the correct dates, so I believe that Violet was in fact born in 1828, but the Month of March may have been her month of birth.
