Verbal interview with Kevin - July 1999, Leora and her daughter Ruth recalled the family of John Morgan, Leora's uncle./ Brother of her father "William Morgan (b.1882)". Leora also recalled that her cousin "Carl" listed above was killed in a train accident.

1908 Owosso Times, July 31, 1908..."(social section) John Morgan and Will Harriman have gone to Durand to open a blacksmith shop." not sure if this refers to the same John Morgan, but family notes, 1910 Census and 1911 directory say he was a blacksmith.

April 27, 1910 CENSUS of Owosso, Shiawassee County, MI John and family were living on Comstock Street in Owosso. John, 29 was a Blacksmith, Millie A. -his wife, was 24. They noted that they had been married for six years (abt. 1904) and that they had 2 children; Myrltle I. was 3 years old, and Lloyd E. was 15/12ths old.

1911 Owosso City Directory 1910-1911 ... "John H. & Millie Morgan, he was a blacksmith at G.R. Preston and resided at 439 Comstock, Owosso, MI"

1918 U.S. Selective Service, WWI Draft Registration.. "John H. Morgan, 37, born 13 Oct 1880 at Owosso, Shiawassee County, MI, occ; farmer, nearest relative; Millie Morgan at Route 10, Owosso, MI,... tall height, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair, signed Sept 12, 1918."

1930 John H. Morgan, age 49, listed as a married inmate, at the Pontiac State Hospital, Oakland County, MI. John H. Morgan was still there in the 1940 CENSUS, and died in Oakland County, MI in 1950. The Pontiac State Hospital was an asylum... why he ended up there is unknown Population at the Pontiac State Hospital by 1929 was 1,688. By 1955, approximately 3,100 patients were residing at the Pontiac State Hospital.
